Chefs Cycle for No Kid Hungry is a two-day, 200-mile fundraising ride through Bend that brings together chefs, restaurateurs, and hospitality professionals from across the country. Now in its second decade, the event has raised over $10 million for No Kid Hungry's campaign to end childhood hunger in America. It's less a race than a shared endurance challenge, riders of every ability level covering the same 200 miles for the same cause.

Most event photography chases the moment: riders crossing the line, exhaustion on someone's face at mile 80. We were asked to shoot with a second purpose in mind, content Chefs Cycle could use in future advertising, not just a recap of the day.
Will and Madigan spent both days on course, covering the full 100-mile routes rather than working a single vantage point. That meant shooting with an eye for the kind of clean, versatile shots that work outside the context of the event itself, images that could stand alone in a campaign rather than only making sense next to a caption explaining what race this was. Two long days on the road, and a library of material built to outlast the weekend it was shot on.
