Oregon Youth Challenge

Oregon Youth Challenge Program is a tuition-free, National Guard-run alternative high school in Bend, serving Oregon teens aged 15 to 18 who've dropped out or fallen behind on credits. Cadets complete a 22-week residential phase focused on academics and life skills, followed by ongoing support to help them graduate, enroll elsewhere, or find a path forward. Since 1999, it's graduated nearly 6,500 cadets statewide.

Project Goal

To drive program applications through digital ads that speak directly to families weighing a difficult decision, not a generic education pitch.

Project Details

This isn't a purchase decision, it's a parent or teenager considering a genuinely hard choice about a kid's future. We built the campaign around that weight: real outcomes, real graduation numbers, and the structure of the program explained plainly, without military-recruitment tone or after-school-special sentimentality.

There's also a funding reality behind the campaign that most viewers never see: OYCP receives government funding per enrolled cadet, so every application these ads generate has a direct financial impact on the program's ability to operate and serve more teens, not just a personal one for the family involved.
